I was lucky enough to take some time to go to Las Vegas for the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show or CES. The CES has every conceivable electronic device imaginable. Although Sanyo is relatively new in the massage chair market, they have put together some very advanced feature sets. Sanyo entered the massage chair industry just a few short years ago. They have the name, but they lack the retail store distribution. The biggest customer complaint is finding one to try. This is extremely difficult with most distribution channels pretty locked up. Sanyo has pushed more into internet dealers. Shiatsu massage chairs have been on the market for 30 years, so Sanyo is a late entrant. Their HEC-DR7700K Zero Gravity Massage Chair is their flagship model. This shiatsu recliner retails for about $5,000.
It is important to compare warranty coverage between models and also between brands. There can be some major differences in coverage. Massage chairs are increasing in complexity and sophistication. Warranty coverage is your insurance against any defects in materials or workmanship. Just like insurance, you hope you never need it, but just in case it is there.
Reviews can play an important in the research phase of any product. To be helpful, reviews need to present a variety of facts to aid in the selection process for a consumer.
