The Buick LaCrosse, which yields 28 MPG, beats the Mercury Milan V6 at 26 and the Lexus ES 350 at 27. Buick Enclave, at 24, tops both the Volvo XC90 and Acura MDX at 20 MPG. Buick Lucerne delivers 26 MPG, as compared to the Chrysler 300 Touring’s 25 and the Lincoln MKS’ 24.

GMC has also had commitment for developing hybrid vehicles, specifically the GMC Yukon hybrid SUV and the full-sized pickup truck GMC Sierra hybrid. Buick is expected in 2011 to be the first prime automaker to produce a 2-mode plug-in hybrid crossover compact.
