Are DVD’s Soon To Be Extinct?

These days it might seem that everything is in HD and is quality high definition, but there is only one true way to watch anything in true 1080p high definition; it is with a Blu-ray player.

Broadcast television and streamed television from the Internet are shown in 1080i, which is not true high definition. For the clearest, picture and the clearest sound, you have to watch it on Blu-ray. Blu-ray is the only true high definition experience that is clear as can possibly be.

The change from DVD to Blu-ray is equivalent to going from VHS to DVD. Blu-ray has become the number one choice for those looking for the best quality. During the last two years, Blu-rays players sold more then the DVD did in the first two years.

The movies have outsold the DVD in the initial two years as well. It is easy to see why when you watch a movie on a Blu-ray player. It is simply amazing to see the quality and the crystal clear sound on a high definition television and with a good surround system. The Blu-ray players have quickly become very affordable and the movies have gotten to the original price points that DVDs started out at. You can get new releases for under thirty dollars and older movies as well as re-releases for under twenty dollars.

Video rental stores have already started making Blu-rays available for purchase and rental. This makes it easier for people to watch the movies without having to buy every single one of them that they want to watch. When DVDs first released, it was very hard to find a store that would rent them and I think that because they were hard to find that way, it kept people from wanting to invest in the new technology. But with the Blu-ray, the manufactures and retail stores and rental stores know that they have a built in consumer base to move this technology ahead.
