It Doesn’t Matter How I Look, Does It?
In a word, yes! It does matter how you look. If we lived in a perfect world appearances wouldn’t matter, but we don’t. If you want more than one date with the cutie you met on an internet dating site, taking care with your appearance could mean the difference between one date and two or three.
Make friends with your mirror. Ask yourself this question; Would I give myself a second look? If not, it’s time to turn that No into a Yes.
If your last haircut is a distant memory, it’s simply been too long, and so is your hair. Call your hairdresser for an appointment without delay. It probably wouldn’t hurt to update your style while you’re at.
Guys, start your razors! Whether you agree with it or not, unsightly body hair can be a real turnoff. Trim your beard and moustache regularly. Scruffy might be sexy when you’re on a canoe trip in the wilds, but back home, it just doesn’t cut it. Neither do untidy nails. Get out the nail clippers and trim them.
Ladies, razors aren’t just for men. Visible underarm hair is not going to turn any guy’s crank. Though I know full well that shaving your legs is a chore, it’s a must. And while you’re at it, pay attention to your bikini line. You just never know!
Pick your outfit with care according to the type of date you’re going on. Jeans and a nice t-shirt are fine for a walk by the lake, but dinner at a good restaurant is going to require more than denim. What you wear is not only a reflection of yourself; it also tells your date you actually care what they think. It should go without saying (or does it?) that what you wear should be clean and pressed.
If you decide to wear perfume or cologne, easy does it. Remember, a fragrance should never enter the room before you and it should leave with you. Unless your date has a fragrance allergy in which case this is a moot point.
You’re worth the effort to look good, so take the time and do it right. Self confidence comes from within, and it will come shining through on the outside in more ways than one if you know you look your best.
